Since our birth, Bambu has been creating a safer, cleaner environment inside and outside of the salon by practicing Eco friendly business styles such as recycling and using non-harmful, animal-safe products. Another, less conventional way, has been through the use of phytoremediation (PR).
“Phytoremediation is the direct use of living green plants for in situ, or in place, removal, degradation, or containment of contaminants in soils, sludges, sediments, surface water and groundwater. Phytoremediation is: A low cost, solar energy driven cleanup technique.”

For the past year (or longer) the people of Bambu have been doing what they can, talking to and contacting who they can, to begin a study of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Too many VOCs in your environment can be harmful. By using PR we have reduced the VOCs in our salon which may be created through using hair colors, bleaches, or hairsprays.
We know this is true, but we want the world to know this is true. That is why we have contacted USF in an effort to begin an official VOC here in our salon. Today, we made progress. A phone call. Someone to listen to our ideas. It’s a great step forward from the battle for validation we have been in.
As always, we are excited for the future and we will keep you updated with our future ventures.
If you know anyone who may be interested in our study, feel free to contact us at our salon.
